You May be Right I May be Crazy…

As I have shared with people about my new passion for running and how I am selling my Motorcycle and using the money t o purchase water cisterns for my brothers and sisters in Haiti, and how I am planning on running in a 10k race in May 2010 in order to raise awareness and money for those same people. I have heard many responses. Are you sure this is what you want to do? Why sell your motorcycle, how much difference will it really make? Are you crazy? Are you having a midlife crisis? Are they really worth it?  How do you know that this is what you are being asked to by God?

Here are my answers.

1. watch this video of  our trip and then you tell me if they are worth it.

Huntsville Christian Church Haiti Mission Trip 2009

2. If my Haitian brothers and sisters are valuable to God then you better believe they are valuable to me.

3. No I am not having a mid life crisis, I am simply searching for what God would have me do. Keep in mind we are all called to be different from the world. We are the called out ones. I have actually started to listen more to what I am called to do.

4. There are alot of things I don’t know, but what I do know is this, in my life time I have ridden  thousands of miles on vehicles with two or three wheels. My current motorcycle was bought from money I had received as an inheritance after my father passed away.

5. Even though we did not have the best of relationships I know this, my dad always helped people who were in need. He would often Give money, food, clothes whatever to people if they had a need and knew about it. He and I didn’t always see eye to eye on things but I KNOW THIS…

He would do the same thing if he had the chance to meet the amazing people I have met in the Far West areas of Haiti.

6.My whole life I wanted a family that I could call my own, one that wasn’t broken. Those of you that know me already know this. I know families are not perfect, but I also know that having your own family means that sometimes you have to make sacrifices, so if selling my motorcycle is my sacrifice for my Haitian family, then it is a sacrifice that I will gladly make.

As I close out this blog remember we are all called to do something for the Kingdom of God. I would encourage to search out what God may be calling you to do.
