I am Still Running…

OKAY, so I have been running for about 6 weeks now and I have “upped” my running alot. At first I was on a 20 minute workout program that burned a certain amount of calories, and the strenuousness of the work out was determined by my weight. In the beginning I was setting my weight at 290 lbs. Because that is what I weigh. but after the first week, it didn’t seem to be pushing enough. I thought well I will just lower my weight input, that will “up” my run. Boy did it… I lowered my weight on the treadmill to 260. {I think my treadmill has a mind of it’s own and very warped sense of humor}

Mr. Tready was like “260 Riiiiiight, I’ll show you 260″ let’s just say that morning i thought i would die, I even posted a tweet saying Mr. Tready was kickin my butt. Well not to be outsmarted by a treadmill, the next day I changed my weight again, I entered 265, again Mr. Tready scoffed at my entry and took to my limit. I was thankful for the handles they were the only thing keeping me on. Finally the Next day I entered 270 Awesome, Mr. Tready and I found our happy place, and we worked out together in harmony he was not laughing at me, but pushing me and encouraging me like the inanimate object he is.

New chapter today with fear and trembling I  stepped on Mr. Tready with grit and determination. It was time to change the work out. So I set up for a 25 minute workout and i changed my weight entry to 265 I stared Mr. Tready down and said “let’s do this” and did we ever… yes I have taken it up a notch, my plan is to run with this work out for about about a week then take it up to thirty minutes, then change the weight entry to 260 lbs. and we will just see what Mr. Tready thinks about that wont we?

As far as weight loss, I am actually at 289lbs. Crazy{my son} says I should push ups like he has to do in karate. he showed me how to do them. he looked like a small mountain doing push ups because his bottom was sticking up in the air. he said “you do them just like this only flatter, and don’t stick your but up in the air.” I laughed and thought do as he says not as he does; so this morning I added 15 push ups to the routine, and  probably looked more like him than I would like to admit.

I say all that to say I am not addicted to running like my friend Helga, but I am still running and running……
