This week i am at the CIY move conference in Cleveland TN. If you have never heard of CIY or are not sure what CIY or MOVE is about, you can check out their website www.ciy.com CIY is an abbreviation for Christ in Youth, they are a christian organization that has been directing young people to Jesus Christ for years, and they do a good job of it. Typically a week long conference at CIY starts out good and ends great. I have been to CIY eighteen times in my life, and every year I leave saying I don’t know how they are going to improve on what I just witnessed, and experienced through the eyes of the teenagers that have been part of the conference. Things Not to do at Camp
After much debate with myself I finally decided to start a series about camp and all the things you should never do at camp. In particular all the things I will most likely never do at camp{again or more than one more time}. I have had the privilege to dean camp at Alabama Christian Service Camp for the last two years. It’s amazing what you learn about what you shouldn’t do at camp. some of the future posts from this series will include video, some may include pictures, but all will include some kind of element where a good idea just turned out to be… well… just not that good of an idea. I Broke it.
Well I have done what I thought was impossible. I have broken Mr. Tready, and I almost killed myself when it happened. Allow me to explain, I had started a new training program on my quest to the 10k. it consists of running for a set time then fast walking. If you really want the details the program is called Couch 2 5K in 9 weeks. So there I was almost finished with day 2 of my new program. I am right in the middle of the run part, when all of sudden the treadmill starts sticking. the first time it happened I thought “pick up your feet dummy you’re getting lazy at the end of your workout” By the way I was running at 6.5 miles an hour even on a treadmill you have forward momentum going and I am weighing in at 287 right now, so you do the math....
